Sunday, August 26, 2007, was my 46th birthday. It was a very busy day for our church family; Sunday morning services, annual welcome picnic after noon, and pastoral search discussion in the evening. Despite this schedule, many friends took time to visit our home from 4 to 6 in the afternoon in order to share in my birthday celebration. Like all parties organized by my wife, it was a huge success. So many longtime friends were there; many who had known me since my childhood and were influential in helping to shape the person I am today. Although unspoken, we are all aware that cancer offers no future planning. Every birthday could be the last, so we need to enjoy the moment. So I would like to thank everyone who helped make my 46th birthday very memorable.

Dear Brent,
"WISH YOU A VERY HAPPY MANY RETURNS OF THE DAY". I know it is bit late but it is never too late as each day/year is a special day for you. It is very nice to hear that you had a quality birthday with your family and your old friends. Please keep up your sprit, faith and hope and take each day as your special day and be happy despite all the discomforts, pain and so much of negative thoughts. With a good treatment and God’s mercy things will improve as you wish.
I am also happy to read about Brian and Ben, and about their schools. I am sure they will just do fine and my best wishes for them too.
I also read Levin’s blog and I was impressed about his writings (such as Life is a bonus!) different ways of look at the life and death. It is sad to such a young boy last his life due to cancer. Well still he has been inspiration and made big positive impacts on cancer patients and others throughout the world. But each one is different and God may have different things for you. So lets hope for the best and continue to pray to the God to keep you well as long as possible and cure your cancer.
Best wishes,
Kasi
sorry for the delay in writing.
this is to wish you a happy b'day which i am sure u have had with all the relatives and friends dropping in and a recovery filled 47th year so that we can celebrate the 47th b'day together in jalna. i know i am wishing to attend one of usha's parties again also which we miss sorely in jalna.
i am happy that the new therapy is going on well and the toxic effects are less than b4. for every therapy i presume there has to be some side effect but then 1 has to weigh it against the good that it does and accept the side effect as a minor aberration as long as the good out scores it.
u have regularly been in our prayers and we wish u speedy recovery and also pray that u will continue to b positive about the therapy and it will have blessing from God to be effective for u.
love and best wishes to all of u---

Our very dear Brent,
Sorry for the long silence. My Mummy passed away suddenly just a month before we were planning to celebrate her 90th birthday. It was a rude shock and Harry n I rushed to Pune for the funeral. We then spent some time with our youngest daughter who wanted us to be with her till I had recovered from the tragedy. We have just come home to Bangalore .Both of us are deeply grieved to hear about your suffering and pain.Rest assured we love you immensely n are close to you in these moments of pain.Wish with all our hearts we could visit you n comfort you.Harry n I attend daily Mass n we promise to plead with Jesus for relief from such agony. You are a real warrior,so brave !I am sure the Lord will be your shepherd n enfold you in His Love n Care.We are with dear Usha n our boys Brian n Ben n pray for them to face these difficult days with courage. We cannot understand God's ways but it is good to see your trust n faith in Him.Much love
Marjorie
